Those advocating for student choice argue that it enhances motivation and engagement. Nowadays, there is a big discussion about whether high school students should choose their own subjects or follow fixed subjects. This essay will look at both sides and give my opinion.

On one hand, letting students pick their subjects has some good points. First, students feel more happy when they study things they like. For example, if someone loves computers, they will work harder in IT classes than in other subjects they don’t enjoy. Also, when students choose their subjects, they can focus on what they need for their future job.
